Creating ABetter WorldThru Food

Food is the common unifier that connects us all — to our family, friends and community; to our own culture and to other cultures; to the people who grow our food; and to the Earth.

Our first mission is Love Thru Food;

Love Thru Ceremony,

Love Thru Action

FoodCircle Giving Fund

We bring people together around food via three core initiatives.

Community Feasting

Whether through our annual public Thanksgiving Feast or other community feasts throughout the year, we set the table for communities to come together. We use feasting as a vehicle to engender harmony and honor cultures, particularly those of Indigenous communities. These feasts are co-created and celebrated by community groups and community members at-large.

Solstice at Maryhill Stonehenge

The summer solstice is observed by cultures around the world as a time of abundance and awakening. Commemorate the longest day of the year with music, movement, and camping at Maryhill Museum of Art on the eve of the solstice, followed by a sunrise ceremony at Stonehenge Memorial Monument.

This inclusive event is for everyone, joining together to set positive personal intentions as the sun rises. We welcome participants to contribute song, dance, poetry, or storytelling to the experience.

What to expect

Head to Maryhill Museum of Art on the eve of the summer solstice for a special campout on the lush museum campus. Explore the museum after-hours, then retire to the Great Lawn for an evening of music, gentle yoga, and storytelling. Contribute your own creative expression if you wish!

Early the next morning, just before sunrise, make your way to the Stonehenge Memorial Monument, 3 miles east of the museum and join us for a ritual to express gratitude for the day and its symbolic meanings, set positive intentions, and contribute or listen to music and spoken word art as the sun’s rays light up the Stonehenge Memorial.

The ceremony will be followed by an opportunity to enjoy breakfast at the museum, packing out, and admission to the museum and museum.

Check out the press we received for the event.
